Equal We Stand
I logged on to the computer today and I saw that today is the 40Th anniversary since Martin Luther king Jr. Was assassinated. He did alot for civil rights and I'm amazed at all the change that we have seen in those forty years. Even though I don't believe everyone is treated the same here in America I do believe we have come a long way and that we will continue to strive for everyone to be treated the same.

I agree with you. A few weeks ago (during Spring Break)I went to visit the National Civil Rights Museam in Memphis, Tennessee with my boyfriend. While we were there, we were able to walk through the actual room that Dr. King stayed in the night before his assasination, because it is partially built onto the Lorraine Motel.Being there made me think of all the work he had done for America and how it has effected us today. He was very influental and will never be forgotten.
Yes King did so much for the civil rights and is a true hero. He is a true example of taking action in what you believe even if it means going to jail or in some cases dieing for the cause.
I do believe our country has come a long way but at times I think more work can be done to protect the rights of all the individuals people like Martin Luther King fought for in the past.
I agree martin luther king did do a lot for this country, open the door for many new opportunities for this country. Things have changed for the better for this country and a lot of it is based on what he stood for.
I think everyone would agree with this. Martin Luther King was a huge part of the changes made in the past 40 years. He will be remembered for decades
