As most of us all know, the wet feet/dry feet law applies to the Cuban immigrants who are coming into Miami. The law states that if a Cuban immigrant touches land without being caught by authorities, than they are allowed to stay here in America. What I don't understand is how that law only applies to Cubans, I remember when I was in high school and I was driving in Key Biscayne, a ship that ran ground which was full of 200+ Hatian immigrants, all of the immigrants then began swimming to shore, jumping on the freeway and jumping in the back of trucks begging for freedom. The authorities caught them all and sent them back to their country. Post your opinions on this matter...

Though I am not of Haitian decent I do feel that it is not a fair law to only apply to the Cuban race. I do believe that if there is law that makes it legal for one nationality to live in America it should be equal for others. However I believe that if any nationality does make it to America and causes trouble or harm then at that point they should be sent back to wherever they originated from.
i think that is very unfair to everyone who is not cuban. I think since thats the law with the cubans it should be the law for everyone. Those hatians shouldnt of been deported

I understand all of your arguments on other races being subjected to this law but I feel as though there is a specific reason that the law only applies to Cubans.
The Reason: Cuba is a communist country.
Mexico and Haiti are both free countries. Although the freedom in those countries is more limited than the freedom we have in America, they are not bound to the country but a communist government. Mexicans have the option to come to America and seek a better standard of living (as do Haitians); however, some choose to do so illegally. Cubans do not have this same freedom. America has even cut off trade and other ties with Cuba due to the communism, which is why Cuban cigars are illegal in the US today. Just something to keep in mind for people that are thinking it is a bit unfair.
