Whats the big deal with Private School?

I went to Public school all my life and enjoyed every mintue of it; so why is it that Private school has become the newest rage for young parents? Within the past 10 years, enrollment levels in private schools have almost doubledcausing a huge decrease in public school levels. Why is this happening? Is it because of the population jump we've had within the past decade? Or is our public school system beginning to crash? Could our economic downfall be a factor in the suffering of public education?

Why are public schools crashing and private schools rising? well that is simply because of poor standards in todays public schools. reading scores in Florida are the lowest they have been. Bad teachers who do not teach anything, don't put the student's education first, and never show up to class are being hired right and left due to the need for teachers. When it all comes down to it you can't blame the parents for getting their children out of a failing system.

The rise in private school enrollments, I think, is due to the lack of safety there seems to be in public schools, right now. What with the recent rise in school shootings; what with the the average number of students who bring guns to school is on the rise; what with the students who just say "F' it!" and start firing on campus. All this plays a role, because parents feel like private schools are safer. They think is they stop it at what they think is the source, they can keep their kids from being shot at and beaten up, for that matter, by a bully for that matter.

There are a lot of problems with public schools, but the main one is being restricted to attending the schools close to you. A lot of time the schools close to you don't have the programs you're interested in or lack the resources to challenge your abilities and indulge your curiosity. I don't believe that private schools are better but I believe they offer more for to those who can afford it and are willing to take advantage of those extra resources. A lot of school districts have become more lenient at allowing students to attend schools that they are not zoned for but they don't offer transportation to those schools and there's usually a long application process. I also think a lot of parents who are financially well off believe that their income should reflect every aspect of their lives as well as their children. After all why buy the Hyundai when you can afford the Benz?
