Should we keep the Electoral College?

For those of you who don't know, the Electoral College is misleading. What we elect are representatives and they elect who is best suited to hold the title of Commander-in-Chief. What I don't understand is why the ballot says the canidates names on it if were technically not voting for them. We vote the for the party and the party votes for the President. Congress needs to drop the act and stop misleading the American population.

The whole electoral college is all screwed up. You're right. We're just picking a party. Unless of course, you're not partisan. (represent)
You're talking about a biased opinion. We vote for who we think should be the next president. The representative doesnt, necessarily, have to do what we say he should? He can vote however he wants. We vote on what he should do, not what they will.

I think the electoral college is pointless. I don't know why it's even still being used. I believe it's a method of disenfranchisement. How can someone have the most votes but not win? I though this was a democracy.
