Interracial relationships have always been a controversial issue. There will probably always be people that will speak out against marrying outside on one's race but America is getting more tolerable with the issue as time passes. There were many attempts to pass a amendment banning miscegenation but it was not successful. Only 16 states had a law against it and in 1967 the Supreme Court ruled anti-miscegenation was unconstitutional. When these laws were removed interracial relationships became more common. I wonder if the fact that we have now elected a interracial man into the White House will help more in the acceptance of interracial couples.
