Web Based Classes Friend or Foe?

In history class settings use to be as small as a living room, so students had direct contact with the teacher. Universities today offer web assisted classes. Advances in technology have made it so simple you don't have to go to class. They even offer a help line you can call that have tutors available 24 hours a day 7 day a week. Do you think this is a good or a bad thing? Do you learn better in a class room setting or on your own time?

I think that it is sometimes an advantage to have online class. but when it comes down to history i need to be in a classroom to learn because history isnt as interesting so i wont focus at home.what about you?

I agree with Tiffany on this one.

I think in some cases online classes are good, I just think it depends on what time of learning styles right for you.

Personally, I think that web based classes will have a negative effect. Since everything will run on my own time, I would most likely put it off until the last minute, which will hurt my overall grade. Also, sometimes students learn things that in class that the internet cannot provide.

I think the web based classes are a bad thing becuase it is easier to learn a subject when a teacher is already there to provide all the information to help you understand. Sometimes doing work on your own at the computer can get confusing.
