You know how they say if you dont go to war you have to spend five years in prison and all this other bad stuff comes with it as well. Would you rather make history as the person who didnt stand up for your country or the person who is willing to risk their lives for America? Reminder this war has beed going on for more than 5 years.If they could give the soldiers a choice now to finish off the war (no telling when that is)or take prison time do you think most of them would leave? My opinion I would have never went but If I was one the troops over I would take the choice to leave.

Well if a person have choosing to go to prison then they would out by now. The person who choose the path to go to war would be still there or dead or even wounded badly. So this is a hard decision, I think I will choose prison.
i think most of them would stay because the reason they entered the service is because they wanted to fight for america
A true hero wouldn't be doing whatever it is that they did to become a hero just for the name. A ture hero does what they feel is right. So with that being said I think it is better to protect your life and if someone else is in need do what you cn to help!
to Mr.Brittnamh i understand what you're saying but i dont thnk none of them anticipated on stayin in war for this long. Im sorry but me personally would have to go with dukes and take prison life at least i'd be out by now.
No, they wouldn't leave and go to prison it's about honor.
I believe they would stay there and finish it because their already there. They have to honor the country and serve because afterall that is the job they do.
I hate this war that's going on right now, and I praise and honor all the men and women protecting us in this war. In my opinion, I would not go to war unless our country was invaded, if Iraq, Afghanistan, or who ever invaded our country and we were battling here in America, then I would go to war for my country. To answer this question, however, if there was a draft and my choice was to go battle in Iraq or go to prison, it would be a very very difficult choice. I could be seen as the guy who put his life at risk to protect America, or I could go to prison and be the guy who whimped out and was too scared to protect this country. You put yourself in that position infront of thousands of prisoners, and I have heard stories of what they do to kidnappers, rapists, and pedophiles, and I am not too sure I would like to know what they would do to a guy who backed out on their country.
To Steele I understand where you are coming from and yeah that is a hard choice. However I just think I would've rather chosen those 5 years at least I wouldve been out of prison by now.

If t were up to me i would go and fight for my country, I think prison is a waste of life. Even though theres a good chance you will come out of prison alive. I would rather fight for my country. I might come back home alive from war too, you never know and if i did i would feel like i served my country
