Electric Chair History!!

Remember when we was growing up and we used to read the newspaper about somebody getting the electric chair? Well I believe they are trying to use this method again for the immates on death row. I don't think that's a good idea if we do that then we are commiting a murder. That is not seeking justice, this is getting revenge or even. I don't we should swoop to their level. I would make them do the time in jail. Because no matter how we look at it, it's still a murder. They should not bring this back, just leave the electric chair in history.

The death sentence has been around for centuries. From back in the days when people got hung, to the days when they would cut off their heads (in certain places). That is a good point, however, about just making the person serve prison time their whole life. You gotta put your self in the victim's family's place though. If your son, daughter, mother or father were brutally murdered, would you be able to just sit in the court room and agree with the prison sentence, or would you want them to be sentenced to death?

well like steele said it has been around for years and were talking about this in my criminal justice class. I think its not fair because its just killing another person however i do think they should recieve life in prison.

I would want him to be sentenced to prison because he will be getting out the easy way if we were to give him the electric chair.

i agree killing another man with the electric chair is a lttle barbaric dont u think let him suffer behind those prison walls killing a person is letting them off easy

You make it sound like the electric chair is the only way that we put people to death. Currently the state puts people to death by using lethal injection. Therefore re-admitting the chair would'nt change much. If your statement is against the death penalty all together thats another issue. I feel that although it may seem barbaric some people have done some horrible things that as said before that a victim may want an end brought to.

We lock them up and then pay for them to live free, that just don't sound right.

If your willing to take a life then you should be prepared to to give yours. A life for a life. I'd rather have a murderer killed then have him behind bars on our expense. People who do that and are let out, almost 95% of them ebd up back in jail for similar crimes. So let them be punished. I believe those type of people should be capitaly punished and be humilated.

I do not believe killing someone is the answer. Making a murderer or rapist suffer in jail for the rest of their lives is punishment enough becuase it is complete tortue. Thinking about the wrong you have done for the rest of your life causes death to the soul.

i think the death sentence is the proper thing to do in some cases. If the person bieng put to death is a serial killer then i believe the death penalty is proper. People make mistakes and even murderes can change so the electric chair isnt right for everyone
