Airplane CRASH, Makes Local History

Where were you when local history was made in Tallahassee Florida in February 2008? Well I was the sports commentator at a local high school baseball game, when all of a sudden in the middle of the game the lights went out at the ballpark. The other team players and fans were upset because they were attempting to start a comeback. Due to the power failure the game ended in Rickard’s favor 11 to 3, many people felt as if this was deliberate on Rickard’s part, but soon the news came. “There was a local plane crash on Ocala Road and Tennessee Street”, at first I didn’t believe it, but I announced it to the baseball game spectators anyway. In hindsight as I think the ballpark’s lights went out but the PA was still functioning, this probably looked very suspicious to them! Since the plane crash ended the baseball game, we left the park early, it was at this point in which my son and I decided to go see the crash, even after being warned to stay away on the radio. After about thirty-five minutes of crowded streets, police roadblocks and no traffic signals we decided to give up and get as far away from that area as we could. Even though the plane crash near FSU, was historical I only got to witness it on the news and in the local paper. Would you have tried to see the plane crash on Tennessee Street in person if you thought you could?

I would of tried to see it but i was not in tallahassee at thetime, i have friends that took pictures of the crash. It looked pretty bad but rumor has it that the crash was not a fatal one, which is really impressive.

The pilot only broke his leg, many people was walking to see it. The roads was packed with people more than cars.

As a matter of a fact i would have tried to see the plane crash if i could have. When i looked at the photos from the crash it looked as if the plane was a big ciggerete being put out on the road. its amazing no one got injured other than the pilot.

I was in a nother state at the time. My parent's saw it on the news and called me to make sure I was alright. If I had been close I don't think I would have gone out of my way to see it.

I was just leaving tallahassee when someone called my phone and told me. If I was in town I probably would have went to see it too. I think that would of been real interesting.

i think that this city needs some more excitement in it. Don't get me wrong, it's not everyday that theres a plane crash at a walgreens, but i think there was too much hype and excitement over this because i couldnt even get out of my driveway because of the traffic. Also, there were too many rumors going on, "Yah man a 747 just crashed into Tennessee St.!"..."Yeh only the pilot survived but there were bodies being wrapped up." It was only one person in the plane and i believe he walked away with a broken leg (no pun intended).
