The Understandment of our time period!

History isnt the easiest subject but its not that hard to understand.Do you think the next generation of people will understand our time in history like the things in our time like 9-11, the war, the president the money hungry government? I think they wil because it's easier to relate to rather than he things in 1850.

Another War?

On march 30, 2008 North Korea told South Korea they would be ready for war if they tried to carry out a nuclear attack. Prior to the comments made on march 30,2008 North Korea have been testing missiles and threatened all South Korean warships that cross enemy lines. Is war the way to solve problems? Which side do you think the American armed forces will help?

Web Based Classes Friend or Foe?

In history class settings use to be as small as a living room, so students had direct contact with the teacher. Universities today offer web assisted classes. Advances in technology have made it so simple you don't have to go to class. They even offer a help line you can call that have tutors available 24 hours a day 7 day a week. Do you think this is a good or a bad thing? Do you learn better in a class room setting or on your own time?

Is it better to be a hero in history or is it better to protect your life?

You know how they say if you dont go to war you have to spend five years in prison and all this other bad stuff comes with it as well. Would you rather make history as the person who didnt stand up for your country or the person who is willing to risk their lives for America? Reminder this war has beed going on for more than 5 years. If they could give the soldiers a choice now to finish off the war (no telling when that is)or take prison time do you think most of them would leave? My opinion I would have never went but If I was one the troops over I would take the choice to leave.

Civil War

With the American Civil War being the biggest war fought on American soil, many changes were made to the US after the war was over. What do you think the US would be like if the South had won instead??

Electric Chair History!!

Remember when we was growing up and we used to read the newspaper about somebody getting the electric chair? Well I believe they are trying to use this method again for the immates on death row. I don't think that's a good idea if we do that then we are commiting a murder. That is not seeking justice, this is getting revenge or even. I don't we should swoop to their level. I would make them do the time in jail. Because no matter how we look at it, it's still a murder. They should not bring this back, just leave the electric chair in history.

War on Iraq!!??

The war should have been over. Bush never found weapons of mass destruction. I think it was just revenge from when his father was in office. This war is costing us too much of money as we have noticed in the gas prices. So How many more dead American soldiers and billions of dollars will it take before we finally say enough is enough? How many more dead American soldiers and billions of dollars will it take before the members of Congress say enough is enough? King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, said that there was "a time of war." This, my fellow Americans, is not the time.

History Books!!!

Is all the information we get from our history books accurate? How do we know its true if the information is so old? Well I never understood that about history. I want to actually sit down and see where they got the documents from. I want to be there when the historians put the information down in history. I think we are all missing a big part of something. The things that don't make since to us in the books, can have an explanation for it somewhere. Of course we will never know the whole truth about America and it's history, but we still should know where all this is coming from.

Airplane CRASH, Makes Local History

Where were you when local history was made in Tallahassee Florida in February 2008? Well I was the sports commentator at a local high school baseball game, when all of a sudden in the middle of the game the lights went out at the ballpark. The other team players and fans were upset because they were attempting to start a comeback. Due to the power failure the game ended in Rickard’s favor 11 to 3, many people felt as if this was deliberate on Rickard’s part, but soon the news came. “There was a local plane crash on Ocala Road and Tennessee Street”, at first I didn’t believe it, but I announced it to the baseball game spectators anyway. In hindsight as I think the ballpark’s lights went out but the PA was still functioning, this probably looked very suspicious to them! Since the plane crash ended the baseball game, we left the park early, it was at this point in which my son and I decided to go see the crash, even after being warned to stay away on the radio. After about thirty-five minutes of crowded streets, police roadblocks and no traffic signals we decided to give up and get as far away from that area as we could. Even though the plane crash near FSU, was historical I only got to witness it on the news and in the local paper. Would you have tried to see the plane crash on Tennessee Street in person if you thought you could?

Could This Be “The Great Depression Part Two?”

In history many of us have known about or have learned about “The Great Depression.” America in the 1920’s, were in dyer straights but are we now headed toward an even a worst fate then our ancestors in early America. Is our current Recession in America, headed for a Depression in America? Can our America today survive a depression like that of the past? How can we expect a depression to effect us or our families in America?

The Historical History of the American Family

Often when I was a young child the “American Family” consisted of a father, a mother and some children. This was the ideal family in the old days; many people lived and fantasized about the idea of having an ideal family. Mother’s throughout history played a key role in the make-up of American family. Her role was that of homemaker, mother and comforter and most of all a noble wife. Today however the times have changed, now it is nobler to aspire to be successful professional women. It is almost as if the historical views of women are negative or old fashioned. The traditional family has even suffered a huge blow; families are now in a critical state or condition. Many families in present history are single parent house holds meaning either mom or dad and not both. Other families are either two women as parents of kids. Some are even two men as parents of kids; the effect of how this has impacted the society is apparently evident. It is my beliefs that our children are the ones who are really lose in this present day’s history. Women are important in the work place, yet it is note worthy to mention that they are absolutely critical in the historical growth of children and family. We Americans must ask ourselves what is more important to manufacture healthy families or to manufacture the ultimate business woman? What costs will the future children have to pay?
